WALLINGFORD - Novametrix Medical System (NASDAQ: NMTX) announced results for its third quarter of fiscal 2001. Net sales increased by approximately $1.9 million, or 16 percent to $14.1 million compared to net sales of approximately $12.2 million for the third quarter of fiscal 2000. Sales to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and international customers were primarily responsible for the growth in overall sales, said the company. OEM sales grew approximately 60 percent over the third quarter of the prior fiscal year, while international sales increased approximately 40 percent over the same period. Net sales for the first nine months of fiscal 2001 increased by approximately $9.9 million, or 33 percent, compared to the first nine months of the prior year. Novametrix makes non-invasive cardiopulmonary monitors and sensors and developmental care products and services for the critical-care marketplace.
