MedSpan Adds YNHH

NEW HAVEN - MedSpan Health Options, a Connecticut hospital–sponsored HMO, has added Yale-New Haven Hospital to its commercial network, effective January 1, 2001. With the addition, MedSpan's network will include 32 Connecticut hospitals, while its provider network will grow to just under 9,000 physicians and providers. The Hartford-based MedSpan has more than 115,000 members. The company was recently ranked the 123rd fastest-growing private company in America by Inc. magazine “Inc. 500.” Last July MedSpan applied for an HMO license for Massachusetts.
