WALLINGFORD - Novametrix Medical Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: NMTX), a maker of patient-monitoring sensors used in hospitals and nursing homes, last month reported lower quarterly earnings as parts shortages and price premiums negatively impacted its results.
The company said that for the fiscal third quarter ended January 28, net income was $760,000, or nine cents a share, down from $830,000, or ten cents a share, a year earlier.
However, Novametrix said it expected fiscal 2001 revenues to rise 25 percent to about $55 million, and earnings to reach 38 to 42 cents a share. For fiscal 2000, Novametrix reported revenue of $43.9 million and net earnings of 27 cents a share.
