TRUMBULL - Oxford Health Plans Inc. (NASDAQ: OXHP) earlier this month said it expects to report higher revenues and earnings in 2001, backed by membership growth.
Chairman and CEO Norman Payson said he expects earnings of about $2.60 per diluted share in 2001 on total revenues of about $4.4 billion. That compares with 2000 earnings (excluding one-time items) of $2.21 per share and revenues of $4.1 billion. Payson also said that his personal goal is for revenues to be ''north of $5 billion'' next year. Reported revenues include premium revenues, third-party administration revenues, investment and other income.
Oxford also said it expects a five-percent increase in commercial membership enrollment this year, including customers such as private employers. Oxford's total membership stood at 1.491 million on Dec. 31.
