Business Women's Network is a national organization with directories of women-run businesses and extensive mentoring services. The Child Care Facilities Microloan Program was made possible through a partnership of the New Haven Community Investment Corporation, the Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority and the U.S. Small Business Administration. Loan amounts up to $10,000 are available to profit and not-for-profit child care providers throughout Connecticut. Loan proceeds may be used to purchase equipment and machinery, furniture, fixtures and improvements to the child care facility to meet child care licensing standards. The Community Economic Development Fund (CEDF) underwrites loans of $5,000 to $250,000 to small businesses and mixed-use property owners. Eligibility depends on business location and community impact. Phone: 203-782-4377.
