| Essex - In its sixth year of returning ten percent of after-tax net income to its host community, Essex Savings Bank has announced the availibility of $175,000 for non-profit organizations and community development projects. Eligible communities within the bank's service area include Chester, Deep River, Essex, Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and Westbrook. Each year more than 200 organizations participate in the bank's program. ESB customers determine 30 percent of fund allocations by voting for three of their favorite causes, charities and organizations which have submitted applications to participate. More than $52,000 will be distributed directly through customer voting between February 1 and March 15 at bank branches in Essex, Old Saybrook and Old Lyme.
