FAIRFIELD - On January 8, SageMaker Inc., an enterprise portal infrastructure company, announced a strategic partnership with Bantu Inc., a creator of Web-based communications solutions. The partnership will entail the integration of the Bantu Messenger, an instant messaging application, into SageMaker's Enterprise Information Portal (EIP), known as SageWave. Through this integration, the SageMaker EIP will become one of the first enterprise portal solutions to offer Web-based instant messaging.
SageMaker says it will integrate the Bantu Messenger as an “i-component” within the SageWave portal. SageWave users will thus be able to correspond with other Bantu users, as well as with users in ICQ, MSN, and Yahoo! IM environments. Bantu Messenger allows users to correspond in real time with colleagues, hold virtual meetings and streamline productivity through instant access.
