FARMINGTON - There's no getting away from it: The Internet is part of every facet of our life. Now you can even visit the pharmacy without leaving home. ConnectiCare has an agreement with Familymeds Group Inc., a Farmington-based retailer of prescription medications, specialty pharmaceuticals and other health-care products, that enables members and visitors to shop on the Connecticare.com Web site. According to ConnectiCare, thousands of health-related products - including prescriptions, over-the-counter products, vitamins and nutritional supplements - can be purchased online.
Under terms of the agreement, Familymeds will provide fulfillment for prescription and over-the-counter products ordered from the site. ConnectiCare also recently added a Pharmacy Central site for health-plan members that brings together information and services associated with the ConnectiCare pharmacy benefit plans, including tips on how best to utilize the features of the benefit, a pharmacy-locator tool, secure access to prescription records and drug information and access to pharmacy-related forms.
