MILFORD - Jacob Marley's Restaurant of Orange has opened a new business, Sage Kitchen, located at 1 New Haven Avenue in Milford. If patrons of Jacob Marley's are expecting another restaurant, they're in for a surprise. Sage Kitchen sells kitchen tools, hand-blown glass and pottery from Simon Pearce and garden décor, specializing is corporate gifts and bridal registries. If you're disappointed that the new shop doesn't serve food, don't despair, Sage also sells gourmet foods such as Stonewall Kitchen, Charlie Trotter's, Bella Cucina and Jean Georges.
Sage Kitchen plans to offer free demonstrations, too. On January 11 a children's cooking demonstration will take place featuring Stephenie Kilburn of Jacob Marley's. A Longaberger basket and pottery show is slated for January 18, and Chef Budda of Jacob Marley's will offer a cooking demonstration on January 25. All demonstrations will begin at 7 p.m. Reservations are required (call 203-878-4443). Sage's regular store hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays (Thursday until 8 p.m.) and 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekends.
