OR&L Construction has announced that Paul D. Griese of Branford has joined the staff. A graduate of Marquette University with a B.S. in mechanical engineering, Griese will be responsible for the mechanical engineering phases of current and upcoming projects as well as work on estimating and the planning phase of future projects. Griese previously served as a project manager for General Motors and Frito-Lay.
Partner Communications, a telecommunications company that provides voice, data and Internet solutions, has moved its headquarters to a new 10,000-square-foot building at 528 Washington Avenue in North Haven. The company held a dedication recently with partner principals and local officials to celebrate the move.
H. Pearce Co., Realtors has announced that Peter B. Brown has joined the company's North Haven office as an industrial and commercial sales associate. A former vice president at First Union National Bank, Brown has approximately 20 years of commercial and real estate banking experience. The Branford resident is a graduate of the University of Connecticut.
Pearce also announced the addition of three new agents in the company's residential division as residential sales associates. Diane Bergantino has returned to the company's Branford office. Donald M. Richards has joined the company's New Haven office. He was formerly a facilities manager at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. Joyce M. Andrews has joined the Guilford office. She was formerly a fifth-grade teacher at Troup Magnet Academy of Sciences in New Haven.
Levey Miller Maretz, Realtors has announced the appointment of Glen Greenberg to the staff. Involved in the real estate business in New York, Boston and New Haven for the past five years, Greenberg is the owner of the Owl Shop in New Haven and was previously assistant general manager of the New Haven Hotel. He holds a BA. degree from Ithaca College and a graduate degree from the Julliard School.
LEASES
H. Pearce Company Realtors has announced that MorganStanleyDeanWitter has leased 3,000 square feet of new office space for five years at 741 Boston Post Road, Madison. The space will become the company's newest shoreline office. Occupancy is scheduled on or before February 1.
The company also announced that W.B. Mason Co. has leased 17,089 square feet of industrial space at 355 Washington Avenue, North Haven. The space will be used as the company's regional headquarters. Once renovations are completed, the facility will be utilized as offices, a retail showroom and a warehouse and distribution space. The Massachusetts-based W.B. Mason is an office furniture and supply company. Presently located in North Branford, Mason's move was precipitated by the need for additional space as well as gaining a more strategic location to the interstate highway system.
M.F. DiScala & Co. has announced that Bayer Corp. has leased 43,824 square feet at the Progress Distribution Center at 82 West Clark Street, West Haven. The 600,000-square-foot warehouse is owned by Orion Haven Associates and managed by Sedona Group. With the addition of Bayer, the building is now fully leased. Other tenants include Smurfit-Stone Container Corp., New England Warehousing Group and Schrafel Paperboard Converting Corp.
Coldwell Banker Commercial has announced that Northern Star Capital LLC has leased 7,200 square feet at 1000 Bridgeport Avenue, Shelton. Christopher O'Hara of Coldwell Banker represented the tenant, and Jeffery Warner represented the owner, Mack-Cali Realty. The company, which employs 40 workers, is relocating from Waterbury. Headquartered in New Jersey, Northern Star Capital is a full-service mortgage lender. Other tenants in the building include People's Bank, Toyota Motor Credit Corp. and Group Technology.
Pyramid Real Estate Group has announced that St. Ives Capital Group has renewed its lease of approximately 576 square feet at 1700 Post Road, Fairfield. Also, the company announced that Audioworks has leased 3,371 square feet at 1700 Post Road, Fairfield. Brian J. Dornan was sole broker in both transactions.
SALES
The Proto Group has announced that Rossotto Inc. of Hamden has purchased 432 Washington Avenue, North Haven from Head Properties of Woodbridge. The two-story office building houses 24,000 square feet of space. Joanne Cusano of William Raveis Real Estate in Cheshire represented the buyer; ;Lou Proto and Steve Patten of the Proto Group represented the seller. The purchase price was $1.5 million.
Press/Cuozzo Realtors has announced the sale of 840 Sherman Avenue, Hamden. The pre-engineered steel industrial building has a two-story masonry facade and houses 3,200 square feet of office space. The remainder of the building is high bay. The building is divided for multi-tenant use. Stephen Press represented the seller, Pasquale Massaro Jr. Louis Buonfiglio Jr. of Beazley Regional represented the purchaser, the Greater New Haven Transit District. The property closed at $535,000.

M.F. DiScala & Co. has announced the Joseph D. Breault, executive vice president, has been appointed exclusive broker for the sale or lease of the former General DataComm headquarters office building and Timex Corp. headquarters office building in Middlebury. The properties are located adjacent to each other at 1579 Straits Turnpike and 199 Park Road South. The combined 388,000-square-foot office building and technical center is known as the Middlebury Technology Center.
Christopher P. Nolan of H. Pearce Co. has been named exclusive listing agent for Audubon Court at 55 Whitney Avenue, New Haven. Owned by the Knights of Columbus, Audubon Court is a six-story, 90,000-square-foot mixed use development of Class A office and retail space located at the corner of Audubon Street and Whitney Avenue. At present there is approximately 32,000 square feet of office space and 4,000 square feet of retail space available for lease.
