WALLINGFORD - VBrick Systems president and founder Rich Mavrogeanes has received the Federal 100 award from Federal Computer Week. Mavrogeanes, who was also honored last month as Business New Haven's 2002 Innovator of the Year, was presented with the award at a March 12 ceremony in Tysons Corner, Va.
Mavrogeanes is one of 17 from the private sector to receive this award, which also honors executives from government and academia for having the greatest impact on the way federal agencies and departments develop, acquire and manage information technology.
The federal government is perhaps the largest purchaser of technology equipment in the world, said Mavrogeanes. This gives them an unparalleled view of the entire technology industry. To be recognized by Federal Computer Week is a remarkable honor.
VBrick Systems develops and markets video networking products for use across applications including information distribution, training and distance learning, security and surveillance, video conferencing and telemedicine. In addition to MPEG video network appliances, VBrick Systems also offers turnkey streaming distribution systems, video-on-demand and software applications like StreamPlayerII and StreamPump, as well as a wide range of accessories.
