Women Gaining in Top Positions

| If you're wondering how women are faring in the top ranks of America's companies, according to the 2000 Catalyst Census of Women Corporate Officers and Top Earners, they are making significant strides. The report says that in America's largest 500 companies, women in the officer ranks have reached 12.5 percent, up from 11.9 percent last year. On the negative side, nearly one-fifth of Fortune 500 firms still don't have any female corporate officers. But women seem to be gaining in the earnings department, with numbers of top female earners more than tripling between 1995 and this year.
