HARTFORD - From Rensselaer at Hartford comes the Center for Lean Business Management (CLBM) of the Lally School of Management & Technology. Operating under the philosophy that the processes and tools of lean production can be successfully applied to any business, the CLBM delivers interactive workshops and short courses to mid- and senior-level managers, incorporating technical rigor and real-world practical application.
Current topics include:
Learning the profound differences between how batch-and-queue businesses are led compared to lean businesses;
How lean businesses align their accounting and finance procedures with production practices;
How to develop and manage lean supply networks;
Learning which quality tools are right for the lean business - and how to use them.
Directors of the CLBM have 24 years of combined industry experience. Workshop instructors are industry practitioners, and the center is guided by an advisory board of industry leaders.
A branch campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Troy, N.Y., Rensselaer at Hartford (which has its own satellite campus in Groton) was created to meet the lifelong learning needs of the experienced professional. It offers graduate programs in computer and information sciences, engineering, information technology and management and technology.
