MERIDEN - A series of print ads featuring prominent Meriden businesses and business owners earned a Best of Class award in the Literature & Promotion Awards Competition of the Northeastern Economic Developers Association at its annual conference in Killington, Vt.
The competition is open to any economic development organization in the 11-state NEDA region, which includes all of New England as well as Delaware, Maryland, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The entries are judged for design and layout, clarity of message, production quality, functionality and overall creativity and impact.
The print ads, designed by Riley & Co. Advertising in Middletown, were part of the overall Meriden: Location. Location. Location. campaign, which included billboards, radio advertisements, print ads and public relations. The Meriden campaign also received a Superior plaudit for its single print ad featuring the RFS Cablewave's president, George Gigas, and a Merit award for its community profile, in the Targeted Industry Material category.
We're very pleased to receive this recognition from our peers, says Stephen T. Serio, chairman of the Economic Development, Housing & Zoning Committee of Meriden's City Council. The ad campaign has raised awareness of Meriden's proactive economic development efforts, and this year's ad campaign will build on that foundation to actively seek new industries for Meriden.
