Dianon Invests in New Technology

STRATFORD - Dianon Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: DIAN), a national provider of cancer and genomic diagnostic services, announced that it had signed an exclusive third party U.S. sales and distribution agreement with Response Genetics Inc. for that company's proprietary Danenberg Tumor Profile chemotherapy guidance system, directly measures specific gene-expression levels of mRNA extracted from a patient's paraffin-preserved tumor biopsy specimen. The genetic information is then converted to a molecular profile and compared to similar molecular profiles from patients who have already been treated.
Dianon also announced that it had made an equity investment in Response Genetics totaling $1 million.
