Griffin’s ER Earns Honors

DERBY - Griffin Hospital's Emergency Department has been cited as having the fastest time for antibiotic administration for pneumonia patients in Connecticut by Qualidigm, the health-care quality and benchmarking organization.
For this achievement, Griffin's ER management team has been invited to present its strategies for improving care to pneumonia patients at Qualidigm's national Pneumonia Quality Improvement Training session.
The hospital's ER also recently won the Connecticut Quality Improvement Award 2000 Gold Prize for improving its urgent-care service turnaround times from 99 minutes to less than 40 minutes.
