Layoffs at Priceline.com

NORWALK - On November 2 Dow Jones reported that Priceline.com (NASDAQ: PCLN) was preparing to lay off as many as 105 employees and consultants. In October, Priceline officials warned that they expected to reprt a loss of about one cent a share and revenues below analysts' expectations. Also last month, the name-your-own-price pioneer shut down its grocery and gasoline licensee, WebHouse Club. The day of the announcement, Priceline shares plummeted 38 percent on Wall Street.
