Internet Kiosks Get DSL Speed

BRANFORD - Those Internet kiosks popping up everywhere will be picking up Internet access speed following the recent connection of New Haven's DSL.net Inc. and Branford's Netkey Inc. DSL.net is a direct national provider of high-speed data communications, and Netkey produces kiosks for customers ranging from banks to retail stores and other public areas.
Web kiosk technology is being used for point-of-sale, loyalty programs, gift registries and other uses. Yet the key to high-speed Internet access is a broadband network connection. Netkey will offer its customers the option of DSL.net's “always on” broadband connection to the Internet.
“Our customers need to extend their market reach beyond the storefront,” says Alex Richardson, Netkey's CEO. “If leading businesses want their content available anywhere, anytime, then Netkey needs to be able to offer our technology with reliable, best-of-class broadband access.”
