ProHealth Group Expands Into Clinical Research

FARMINGTON - ProHealth Physicians, Connecticut's largest group practice, has expanded into clinical research by establishing a new division, Physicians Research Network (PRN). This division was formed to provide area physicians and patients the opportunity to participate in clinical research studies, the group explains. These studies help develop new medications and find new applications to existing medications.
PRN is currently conducting studies for a number of pharmaceutical companies in areas including pneumonia, diabetes and atrial fibrillation. Already completed are studies involving osteoarthritis, bronchitis, sinusitis and erectile dysfunction. And scheduled to begin soon is research on pneumonia, asthma, hypertension/high cholesterol, and DNA.
