Never Too Much Pizza

Business New Haven
10/16/2000
By: BNH
NEW HAVEN - Pizza at the Wood Burning Oven recently opened at 122 Howe Street at the corner of Elm. The restaurant offers pizza, salads, pasta, grinders and other specialties. Pizza is sold by the slice and in various sizes of made-to-order pies. No pork products are sold. The restaurant, which offers special deals for students, closes at 3 p.m. on weekdays and 4 p.m. on weekends. Owner Kadir Catalbasoglu isn't worried about the high concentration of pizzerias in New Haven, ”I make the best pizza in town,” crows Catalbasoglu. Pointing out the name of the new establishment tells why the owner thinks his pizza is different, Catalbasoglu says, “We have a real burning wood brick oven, in the old style from the 1700s. I was thinking about opening a place with a real wood burning oven, then this location became available.” The confident Catalbasoglu doesn't think New Haven students can ever have too much pizza.
