WATERBURY - The Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce is recruiting participants for its 2000-2001 Leadership Greater Waterbury class, set to begin next month. The course is a personal and career-development program for future leaders committed to volunteer leadership and who aspire to roles of responsibility in civic, professional and community organization. Following a two-day orientation, participants will meet once a month for a full day of workshops, panel discussions and site visits. Participants will also collaborate on a self-directed, community-oriented team project. Topics to be covered by the course include social and economic history, government and public policy, economic development, arts and entertainment, health and human services, education and media and communications. Tuition for the program is $1,200 for corporate-sponsored participants and $850 for non-profit agency participants. For further information call the chamber at 203-757-0701.
