Yale, Alexion Publish Spinal-Cord Study

NEW HAVEN - Researchers from Alexion Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: ALXN) and Yale University School of Medicine published a study in the September issue of Nature Biotechnology journal reporting that the transplanting of genetically modified pig cells into the spinal cords of rodents would regenerate axons of damaged spinal cords. Alexion plans to focus on a clinical program for treating spinal cord injuries as well as product manufacturing.
