Beazley Co., Realtors has been named one of the nation's top 100 real estate companies by Realtor Magazine. The list, published in the magazine's July issue, ranked Beazley 53rd out of 100 leading real estate brokerage firms. The magazine surveyed 200 companies whose past records established them as companies of high performance and listed the top 100. The rankings were based on year-end 1999 figures for closed sides of transactions.
Prudential Connecticut Realty has introduced two new features to its Web site. Prudentialct.com now offers Instant Listings, a service that immediately posts new listings to the site, and an Open House Schedule, which allows buyers to find instantly the open-house events of interest to them. The Open House Schedule permits buyers to select a town, price range, number of bedrooms and bathrooms and get a list of houses, complete with photographs and directions.
LEASES
The Windsor Management Co. announces that Marc Pfeffer and Alexander Preziosi have leased 3,870 square feet in Building 12 at the Marlin Realty Business Center, 85 Willow Street, New Haven. The space will be used as a general office and furniture restoration. Elaine Rossignol of the Windsor was sole broker in the transaction.
Scott Zakos of Vidal/Wettenstein LLC, a commercial real estate firm, has announced the Premier Imports LLC has leased 5,600 square feet at 164 Old Gate Lane Industrial Park, Milford. Premier, owned by Joseph Cioffi, imports of Italian and Spanish wines. Old Gate Lane Industrial Park is owned and managed by the Smith Construction Co., Inc.
SALES
Steve Witten of Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services has announced the sale of the Cambridge Oxford Apartments, 32-40 High Street, New Haven. The 78 residential units sold for $3.8 million. Located on the historic Yale University campus, the three buildings, built in 1860, 1910 and 1920, are on the National Historic Register of Historic Places. Gary Witten and Victor Nolletti were sole brokers in the transaction. The buyer was Beacon Residential. Upgrades to the buildings will be done by Herbert S. Newman & Partners. Sellers of the properties were James Cooney, Carol Ford and Jean Raney.
David Gorbach of Colonial Realty of Fairfield has announced the sale of the Doral Apartments, 824 Wood Avenue, Bridgeport. The 42-unit building was sold to Doral Apartments LLC for $1.05 million. Colonial Realty was sole broker in the transaction.
H. Pearce Co., Realtors has announced that Mina Foods Co. Inc. has purchased a 12,000-square-foot warehouse building with office space at 680 Campbell Avenue, West Haven. The site, on 1.4 acres, will be used as headquarters by Mina, which is relocating from Bridgeport. The purchase price was $425,000. David Roetting of Pearce's North Haven industrial/commercial office exclusively represented the buyer, while Gary Richetelli of Colonial Properties Inc. represented the seller, Investors Company LLC.
Tom Hill III of Drubner Industrials has announced the sale of a small strip center sited on approximately 11 acres at 869 West Main Street, Cheshire. The site, located at the intersection of Mountain Road and Route 70, sold for $1.05 million. Sellers were C & G Associates, represented by attorney George Mendillo. The buyers were A&A Properties, represented by attorney Iris Brown. The new buyers are reviewing scenarios for redevelopment of this parcel to a neighborhood-type commercial center.
CONSTRUCTION
Brandfon Honda of New Haven is moving to a new site on Route 1, Branford, at the top of Branford Hill. The new 24,000-square-feet facility is sitted on 4.5 acres. Construction of the multi-million-dollar facility is being done by Pacesetter Construction of Branford, with a tentative opening set for mid-December. Jeff Brandfon, owner of Brandfon Honda, said the state-of-the-art facility will be the first of its kind in Connecticut built from the ground up using the new Honda design image. It will contain an information center for car buyers, showroom, drive-through service write-up and an automated car wash. Brandfon plans to run a shuttle service through the New Haven area to accommodate new and existing customers.
OR&L Construction of Branford was recently awarded contracts for interior renovations at Cronin & Co. Inc. in Glastonbury, Krause & Kemper in Branford and Dun & Bradstreet's Market Data Retrieval facility in Shelton.
