| ORANGE - Sam's Club has donated $2,625 to the local Connecticut Audubon Society Coastal Center to assist with a Land Use History Display. Sam's Club is proud to make this contribution as a commitment too helping improve the environment in Milford, said Sam's Club manager Kevin Lawrence. Sam's Club created its Clean Air-Clean Water Grant program in 1990 to enhance the quality of life in its home communities, which last year received more than $1.5 million nationwide in environmental grants. Parent Wal-Mart Stores Inc., which operates more than 2,400 stores and 450 Sam's Clubs nationwide, say sit raised and donated $127 million for charitable organizations in 1998.
