HARTFORD - A number of the state's largest construction contractors have joined forces to sponsor a first-of-its-kind apprentice guidebook to construction careers. Published earlier this spring, the 20-page guidebook includes descriptions of each construction trade, as well as starting and top-of-scale wage information, requirements and who to contact to learn more. “Construction is the fastest-growing employment sector in the state right now,” says Carolyn Brooks-Burton, who chairs the Good Jobs! Partnership that published the guidebook and is distributing 10,000 copies statewide. “But many people don't know where to go to access these good-paying jobs.” Now they can find out by calling 860-242-1512 or visiting www.goodjobsCT.com.
