MILFORD - A district-wide intranet designed for the Ridgefield school district has won Advanced Corporate Networking Inc. (ACN) the distinction of being a finalist in the first annual Technology Achievements in Education Awards. The competition is co-sponsored by Microsoft Windows 2000, Scholastic Technology Guide and Microsoft in Education. ACN is a Microsoft solution provider and authorized education reseller.
The Ridgefield installation showcases an innovative and effective use of Microsoft technology, the company notes. The school district's challenge was to deploy Internet services and access to centralized applications with limited staff resources, explains an ACN spokesperson.
ACN's core business is integrating business computer systems into intranets, which are computer communication networks within companies or organizations. A spokesperson says clients include small- to mid-sized companies and government agencies, as well as education organizations.
Digital Back Office is also an Application Service Provider (ASP), says Forren, offering online access to automated uses, from e-mail to shared databases to educational programs. To learn more, visit www.digitalbackoffice.com, or call 203-874-5545.
