Hubbell Sells Telecom Assets

ORANGE - Hubbell Inc. (NYSE: HUBa) has announced that it had sold the assets of its WavePacer Digital Subscriber Line to ECI Telecom Ltd. (NASDAQ: ECIL) located in Petah Tikva, Israel for $61 million in cash. The deal also includes a stipulation of possible payments of up to $25 million to Hubbell depending on the sales of WavePacer DSL during 2000. Hubbell previously announced that it planned to continue its manufacture of core products of the Pulse Communication business including its Series 5 Digital Loop Carrier and Central Office D4 transmission equipment.
