New Businesses Emerge in February

HARTFORD - The Commercial Recording Division of the Secretary of the State's office registered 2,092 new businesses in February. The majority, 1,441, are limited liability companies (LLCs). Of the total, 1,736 are Connecticut companies and 356 are from out of state. Since January 1, 4,300 businesses have registered with the Secretary of the State's office, an 18 percent year-to-date increase over the same period in 1999, when 3,540 business starts were recorded.
