United Natural Foods Names Eastern Region President

DAYVILLE - United Natural Foods Inc. (NASDAQ: UNFI) announced that Steve Townsend has been named president of the company's Eastern Region, replacing Frank Carpenito, who resigned recently to pursue “other interests.” However, Carpenito will continue as a consultant to the company for an undefined period of time. Townsend has been with the company for several years, including service with the predecessor company, Cornucopia Natural Foods.
