CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Through its First Union Investment Advisors (FIA) private equity fund-of-funds, First Union Corp (NYSE: FTU) will provide clients with opportunities for investment in venture capital partnerships and leveraged buyouts. The $92 million raised in the fund-of-funds was generated from First Union employees and high-net-worth clients. First Union will use First Union Securities Inc., its investment banking arm, and First Union Capital Partners, its merchant banking group, to offer more investment opportunities to customers.
