In the Financial Times of London's latest business school rankings, the Yale School of Management (SOM) placed 18th among the top 75 full-time MBA programs. This represents a rise from 20th last year, but still places SOM at the bottom of Ivy League business schools. The business publication bases its ranking on a number of factors, including salaries and employment placement rates for recent graduates. Yale SOM graduates had an average annual income of $121,453 and a 97-percent employment rate. Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania and Stanford headed the list, with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Columbia rounding out the top five. SOM officials cite a number of factors that contribute to the school's higher ranking, including increased faculty size and the newly opened International Center for Finance.
