Inter-Tel Buys Executone Division

PHOENIX - Inter-Tel Inc. (NASDAQ: INTL) announced its purchase of Executone Information Systems Inc.'s (NASDAQ: ELOT) computer telephony unit. Not included in the acquisition are Executone's e-Lottery division or its health-care division. Inter-Tel plans to distribute several Executone products including some under development and including Executone's Eclipse, IDS, InfoStar, Medley and Sentinel. Also, Inter-Tel plans to keep the Milford Executone facility, the government accounts office in Virginia and a plant in Poway, Calif.
