In 1968, the fledgling Creative Arts Workshop (CAW) held a one-day craft show as a fundraiser. From those modest beginnings grew the Celebration of American Crafts, a spectacular exhibition and sale of contemporary crafts by more than 450 artisans from all over the U.S.
The six-week event transforms CAW into an elegant, spacious display area showcasing handcrafted items, from the classic to the cutting edge, priced from less than $5 to in excess of $5,000.
One of this year's unifying themes is "Rooms With a View," individual vignettes featuring art as part of everyday life. From one-of-a-kind bowls to beds, jewelry to jackets, fiber to furniture, pottery to playthings, the Celebration of American Crafts can rightly boast to having something for every taste and budget.
