Robert D. Scinto, a Connecticut developer and owner of Robert D. Scinto Inc. in Shelton, was recently honored for his contribution to the economic growth and stability of the region by the Southern Connecticut Building Owners & Managers Association. Also honored was Paul A. Deysenroth, manager of facilities for General Electric in Fairfield, as Member of the Year for his dedication and service over 15 years. Office Building of the Year honors went to MerrittView in Norwalk in the 250,000- to 500,000-square-foot category, and to 320 and 330 Darien Green in Darien in the suburban office category. Both winners are managed by W&M Properties of Connecticut.
The Beazley Co., Realtors regional center in Orange has conferred on Sheila Saltzman the designation of a certified residential specialist. A member of the Greater New Haven Association of Realtors for 21 years, Saltzman is a member of the Graduate Realtor Institute and a licensed residential appraiser. She is also a member of the New Haven Association of Realtors' professional standards committee.
Calcagni Associates Real Estate has created a relocation service to help ease transitions for incoming and outgoing transferees. Karen Knowles will head the program as relocation coordinator. According to Knowles, the service will help with logistical problems associated with moving including educational assistance, temporary housing and even spouse employment assistance. Company president Steve Calcagni noted one reason for adding the service: The tight labor market is causing more companies to turn to relocation as a way of optimizing their employee resources.
SALES
Press/Cuozzo Realtors brokered the sale of a two-story, 11-unit residential complex at 195-199 Lenox Street, New Haven to Lenox, LLC for $310,000. Joel Nesson represented the seller and Joan Veillette of Commercial Property Associates represented the buyer.
LEASES
M.F. DiScala & Co., real estate investment bankers, has leased 70,000 square feet at Medway Distribution Center, 25 Research Parkway, Wallingford to Mill's Pride. The company sells ready-to-assemble kitchen and bathroom cabinets which are retailed at Home Depot. It also produces home-office workstations, home entertainment units and similar products sold through other retailers. Joseph D. Breault represented the owners; Sean Cahill and Ray Taylor of CB Richard Ellis-Team East represented the tenant.
M.F. DiScala & Co. announced that SNET has leased 70,000 square feet at the Medway Distribution Center, 25 Research Parkway, Wallingford. Joseph D. Breault and Michael Wendel represented the owners; Kevin Morrison of CB Richard Ellis of Dallas represented the tenant.
Press/Cuozzo Realtors brokered a lease of 1,200 square feet of office space at 2969 Whitney Avenue, Hamden to Disability Management Specialists, LLC. Press/Cuozzo was the sole broker: Joel Nesson was the listing broker while Albert Scafati represented the tenant.
Press/Cuozzo Realtors has leased 4,440 square feet at Whitney Grove Square, New Haven to the law firm of Wilson, Gebbert & Fusco. Albert Scafati represented the tenant; Andy DiFatta Jr. of Konover Corp. represented the landlord, Yale University. The architectural firm of Greg & Weise did the interior design and space planning. Attorney James Carolan represented Yale, while attorney Ron Cox of Halloran & Sage represented the tenant. The original term and options for the rentable lease is valued at approximately $1 million.
Pyramid Real Estate and Management Co. has leased 5,000 square feet at 1025 Main Street, Bridgeport to McDonald's Restaurants. Gordon M. Clark represented the tenant and landlord.
EXCLUSIVE LISTINGS
H. Pearce Co.'s North Haven industrial and commercial office has been named by Pacific Western Mortgage & Investment Co. as exclusive marketing agents for its 50,000-square-foot, three-story Class A office facility, Center One, at 2750 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden.
CONSTRUCTION
Construction of the Killingly Courthouse was recently completed. The buildings includes three major courtrooms, office space and a sally port and cell-block area for prisoner holding. FIP Construction Inc. served as the design/builder. Others working on the project included AM Design Architects and BVH Engineers.
