Hamden Receives Revitalization Grant

HAMDEN - Former Hamden Mayor Barbara A. DeNicola secured a $500,000 grant form Governor John Rowland, for the community development and revitalization of Dixwell Avenue through the Highwood neighborhood.
The town will be reviewing the logistics of the grant in the next few weeks, pending approval by the Legislative council. Plans to begin the revitalization will begin in the near future, said DeNicola.
The Highwood Neighborhood is located along and off of Dixwell Avenue in the southern end of Hamden.
