| Lewis Berman, M.D. has been chosen to receive the 1999 Dr. Melville G. Magida Award. A pulmonary disease and critical care medical care specialist, Berman was nominated for the award by his colleagues at Norwalk Hospital. The Magida Award, presented annually by the Fairfield County Medical Association and the Richard & Hinda Rosenthal Foundation, recognizes a physician under age 40 who has shown a notable capacity for patient treatment and care, and a particular sensitivity in patient-physician relationships. Berman is director of critical care medicine at Norwalk Hospital and assistant clinical professor of medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine.
