What a striking contribution to the Marketing of New Haven in the September 5 issue! I hope the incisive, disparate, intelligent voices of New Haven's marketing elite find their way to a Baltimore address. Thre hasn't been a better collection of marketing pragmatism published in the past decade by Business New Haven or any other publication. While the minds are obviously here, the business goes to Baltimore. Weird.
I was especially impressed by the diversity of the replies from Mascola, Mason (my buddy and ex-partner), Cheney, Bradford, et al. Collectively, they could shake up the psyches of the core group that directs the action, or non-action, of this city. But "do it" or not, it will still take, as T.S. Eliot put it, "the willing suspension of disbelief." In short, the city doesn't know what it has in its own largess of marketing experts.
