| HARTFORD - State Tax Commissioner Gene Gavin has announced that the Department of Revenue Services (DRS) has a new Web site that has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and the Fox News Network's national business spotlight, the Cavuto Business Report. Located at www.state.ct.us/drs, the new site is easier to navigate for Connecticut tax information. Information with immediate importance, such as the Rebate '99 program and a September 23 DRS tax seminar, is highlighted on the DRS home page so it can be found quickly. All state tax forms are downloadable, and direct links are provided to other state and federal agencies. Crowed Gavin, "I believe this is the best tax Web site on the planet." One of the more distinctive features of the new site is a list of the top 100 tax delinquents in the state, making Connecticut the first state to publish names of taxpayers with overdue bills. The top 100 list has caught the attention of Congress as a possible remedy to IRS collection woes.
