Internet companies are popping up all over New England. Now one local company that has made a name for itself selling software and providing an outlet for ticket sales is opening a major new headquarters in the region.

Tickets.com is consolidating its Guilford, Norwalk and Windsor offices to open a 20,000-square-foot office in Wallingford. The move will has caught the attention of a lot of people because of the size of the office space.

Senior Vice President of Software Development Bob McClintock says Tickets.com's three offices will consolidate and move in during September. He is confident that the consolidation of the offices will provide enhanced efficiency for the growing company and help provide improved service for Tickets.com customers, who deal with the company through its Web site or phone lines.

Tickets.com sells and licenses computer software to local organizations such as the Shubert Performing Arts Center, the Oakdale Theater and Goodspeed Opera House. They use this software to sell tickets to their events directly from the theaters.

"The Web site is basically a one-stop shopping place for all entertainment and ticketing systems," McClintock explains.

The company is currently selling tickets for the highly popular Tori Amos and Alanis Morissette tour dates on the Tickets.com Web site.

Customers are able to log on to the site and purchase tickets to area shows and concerts at the local theaters. There is also a phone number that customers can call to order directly from the company.

McClintock says his company is not necessarily expanding as a result of the move, but simply merging its local offices to create one central facility.

"We will be moving to 10 Alexander Drive in Wallingford," McClintock explains. "It will take some time to get all of the offices moved in and organized but we should be done by late September or early October."
