EAST HAVEN - Italian Tile Supply Inc. has opened a 7000-square-foot showroom and warehouse at 655 Main St., East Haven. The company is the exclusive importer and distributor of Marca Corona ceramic and porcelain tile and I Bizantini marble tile.
According to Paul Georgeo, who owns the business with his wife, Monica, the location was ideal because of its visibility from I-95 and its Route 1 site is convenient to get to. We looked at a number of areas but this one seemed ideal, says Georgeo, who has been in the tile business for a decade. An additional consideration was the availability of ample parking and an adjacent location to McDermott Chevrolet. The new business is one of several that are taking part in the revitalization of the former Pathmark Plaza.
The store, which opened in the middle of March, is a wholesale and retail distributor of tile. We're set up so architects and designers can work with their clients undisturbed and not interfere with the store's retail trade. Reaction so far has been extremely positive; people say they've never seen a store like this before. We feel we've made the right decision in locating here, Georgeo says.
