SHELTON - A leading provider of customer interaction software, IMA has entered a joint technology and marketing alliance with the Comverse Information Systems division of Comverse Technology Inc. As part of the agreement, IMA's popular EDGE software product has been integrated with digital voice and data recording products from Comverse, allowing users to capture, retrieve and verify voice and data transactions conducted through their call centers (a process that previously required bulky and inefficient analog audio recorders). IMA says the integrated product has already been installed by Sitel Corp., the world's largest teleservices outsourcing provider, for use at its 660-seat call center in San Angelo, Tex.

New Haven Ranks 26th in Share of High-Tech Workers
Based on the percentage of its workforce employed by technology companies, the New Haven metro area ranked 26th among 300 U.S. cities in a study of the high-tech industry conducted by Dynamic Resource Solutions of Abington, Pa., an economic consulting firm. (In the December 9 issue of The Wall Street Journal, it was erroneously reported that New Haven ranked second in the study after San Jose, which posted the highest concentration of high-tech jobs, at 25.9 percent.) The study, available for $190, claims that New Haven's economy is one of the most technologically diverse in the nation - including computer, telecommunications and biotechnology companies - and thus less susceptible than many others to an economic downturn.
