A new toll-free telephone service is available to provide information on employment services and training to workers who have lost their jobs, as well as to Connecticut employers. The America's Workforce Network (AWN) Toll-Free Help Line (877-US-JOBS), a partnership with the state and federal Departments of Labor serves as a single telephone entry point into Connecticut's workforce development system, ensuring that employers faced with workforce challenges and workers who lost their jobs find needed information.
Services for businesses include: the Connecticut Job Bank, an electronic listing of more than one million jobs; economic information and assistance; OSHA consultations; customized job training and apprenticeship programs; recruiting assistance; tax credit and shared work programs; statewide job fairs; and economic information to assist with expansions and hiring needs.
No-cost services for job seekers include: Certified Professional Résumé Writers; Connecticut's Job Bank; career development specialists for job search and career assistance; computers for job seeking and researching the labor market; an electronic talent bank for posting résumés; computers, fax machines and phones; and a variety of career workshops.
