HARTFORD - Advest Group Inc. (NYSE: ADV) announced that its chairman and chief executive officer, Allen Weintraub, will step down as CEO effective April 1, 1999. He will be succeeded in that position by Grant W. Kurtz, the company's president. Weintraub will remain chairman of the board.
