BRIDGEPORT - People's Bank (NASDAQ: PBCT) has announced an alliance with HomeSide Lending Inc., a unit of National Australia Bank. HomeSide will process billing and payments for People's Bank mortgages. This arrangement will allow People's to concentrate on the origination, approval and closing of residential mortgages. HomeSide services a mortgage loan portfolio of more than $115 billion and is one of the largest firms in the U.S. for originating and servicing mortgages.
