NEW HAVEN - Even with a 26-day work stoppage by its union, Southern New England Telecommunications Corp. (NYSE: SNG) posted a ten-percent hike in third-quarter net income to $54.5 million, compared to $49.1 million for third quarter 1997. Diluted EPS rose to 79 cents.
