TranSwitch Licences Sonics' On-Chip MicroNetworks

SHELTON - Sonics Inc. of Mountain View, Calif. last month announced that TranSwitch Corp. (NASDAQ: TXCC) had signed a corporate-wide license to incorporate Sonics MicroNetworks into its high-speed system-on-chip (SOC) semiconductors for the packet-based broadband communications market.
“We view Sonics MicroNetworks on-chip communications interconnect as very important to TranSwitch's ability to innovate with its product families,'' said David DiOrio, TXCC's vice president of engineering and R&D strategic programs.
TranSwitch develops and supplies high-speed VLSI semiconductor solutions to original equipment manufacturers serving three end-markets: the Worldwide Public Network Infrastructure, the Internet infrastructure and corporate Wide Area Networks (WANs).
