Volunteer Action Center Offers Opportunities Online

The Valley United Way and its Volunteer Action Center have unveiled a new service that makes volunteerism just a mouse-click away. The new, on-line volunteer recruitment resource called Volunteer Solutions will allow individuals to search for opportunities in their area that meet their specific need and interests.
Jack Walsh, Executive Director of Valley United Way noted that, 'the idea is to make it as easy as possible for people to find volunteer opportunities that match their interests, talents and their time availability." The free Internet based service will include many functions such as a Community Calendar, which will allow non-profit organizations to more effectively retain and reward volunteers.
