WINDSOR LOCKS - Dexter Corp. (NYSE: DEX) announced that its second-quarter earnings were expected to remain flat. In order to cope with the Asian economic situation as well as excess inventory in the electronic-components sector, many global customers plan to reduce inventory, lay off workers or temporarily shut down, which may negatively impact Dexter's sales. Dexter is a specialty materials producer serving the electronics, aerospace, food packaging, medical and automotive sectors. Dexter closed at 31 13/16 on June 26.
