NORWALK - U.S. Surgical Corp. (NYSE: USS) has signed a two-year prime vendor agreement with AmeriNet, a health-care purchasing organization which covers more than 1,900 hospitals and 900 outpatient surgery centers. Under terms of the new agreement, U.S. Surgical will supply several types of breast-care technology for accurate and minimally-invasive biopsies to AmeriNet and the hospitals it represents. U.S. Surgical has done business with AmeriNet since 1986, and in 1997 signed a five-year agreement on supplying U.S. Surgical's stapling, laparoscopic and suture products.
