Pfizer Collaboration Extended

BRANFORD - Neurogen Corp. (NASDAQ: NRGN) and Pfizer Inc. have extended their joint research into the physiological roots of human behavior. The two firms agreed to extend for another year their colloboration in anti-obesity research through appetite-suppressing drugs. The two companies also cooperate in drug development for mental disorders such as anxiety, insomnia and dementia. Neurogen also announced a new drug candidate for treating depression and stress disorders. The candidate, NGD 98-1, has shown positive results in animal models and should be ready for human testing by early 1999.
